Family First

I was born on a cold winter morning as the first child of my family. My parents had been waiting for me—not just for months, but for years. Four long years of prayers, tears, and unshakable hope. They tried everything imaginable to complete their little family, and finally, God smiled on them. I came into their lives, and with me, their hearts were full.

Before I was born, my parents made a simple prayer: they wouldn’t expect anything more than my healthy existence. And I think God truly listened. I didn’t bring them wealth, extraordinary talents, or anything remarkable enough to transform their lives. But they were happy—genuinely happy—to have me.

Even though I’ve spent my whole life trying to bring them the joy they deserve, I’m not sure I ever fully succeeded. Yet, in their eyes, I could see it didn’t matter. Their love for me wasn’t tied to my achievements; it was unconditional, a kind of love that’s rare and unwavering.

Now, as I sit here in my mid-forties, I find myself walking a similar path. I’m the proud father of a beautiful 9-year-old daughter, and she’s my world. No gift I’ve ever received—no success, no accolade—has come close to the joy of being her dad. Every day, I look forward to coming home from work just to see her smile.

But here’s the bittersweet part: she’s growing up so fast. It’s fascinating, yes, but also a little heartbreaking. I often catch myself wishing I could freeze time, hold onto these moments, and make them last forever. My biggest dream now is to build a life that gives me the freedom to spend more time with her and my wife—time I know I can never get back.

My wife, by the way, is the glue that holds our family together. She’s not just a wonderful cook but also an amazing teacher—not by profession, but by nature. She teaches our daughter, manages our home effortlessly, and supports my dreams with a quiet strength that I lean on more than she probably knows.

Everything I do now—every late-night idea, every small step toward building something of my own—is fueled by them. My daughter, with her curious questions and infectious laughter, reminds me why I strive. And my wife, with her steady presence, gives me the courage to keep going.

Life has a funny way of coming full circle, doesn’t it? Just as my parents poured everything into making me feel loved, I find myself doing the same for my little family. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
